The Ark

Welcome to The Ark. Part of the opensci ecosystem, The Ark is a platform to discover, rate, and review preprints and other research objects. At the heart of The Ark are Ark Communities: groups of researchers who decide what to review, how to review it, and what standards matter in their field.

Why participate in The Ark as a reviewer?

The Ark lets you review research openly and constructively, with your comments, ratings, and recommendations visible from the moment they are posted. Reviews are collaborative and community-driven, with anyone able to contribute and discuss. Structured review forms and shared rating criteria make evaluations more consistent and useful, while visible attribution ensures your contribution is recognized and reusable. Communities set their own standards and processes, with openness as the default rather than the exception.

Why share your work on The Ark as an author?

The Ark gives you rapid, transparent feedback from relevant research communities instead of closed, slow editorial cycles. Reviews are structured and comparable, making them easier to interpret and apply, and multiple experts can contribute their perspective. All reviews, ratings, and community decisions remain attached to your preprint, so feedback is portable. You stay in control throughout: you can revise, resubmit, or seek assessment from another community at any time.
